HUXHUX Design was hired to design Bandier's NYC flagship. This 6,000SF retail location was a full gut renovation of a notable landmarked building in Noho, NYC. Through the renovation process we uncovered an original architectural feature which we decided would be amazing to preserve. The original courtyard glass ceiling now serves as the glass floor in the fitting room area. It is an unexpected beautiful moment for the project.  The building has a rich history as one of New York City’s premier retail centers and has been called “the finest business edifice in New York.”  We wanted to celebrate this history.

HUXHUX Design led the effort to reconceive Bandier’s retail experience. Through extensive design studies and fixture development we orchestrate a hyper-programmed store wherein shoppers can experience everything from shopping evergreen collections to discovering capsule collections to interacting with brand activations and shop-in-shops. We also designed a full cafe in the store so that the brand could activate this feature with rotating wellness brand partnerships. Bandier customers thereby gain exposure to various wellness innovators over time as they return to the store. The umbrella nature of the brand’s interest in active wellness gave us a unique opportunity to design a rich and layered retail environment in which everything, and we mean everything, is custom to this store.
